This micro-practice is a very simple one that at a minimum can help you relax and become more present. And if your mind is open enough, it can truly and literally blow what mind you have.
Its best to do this one first thing in the morning for a few minutes before you’ve been captured by the conditions of the world and when you may have the space and time to do this…perhaps on a Sunday;)
Steps:
- For a few minutes, simply slow everything you do down to 1/4 or even 1/10 speed;
- Pay full attention to everything that is happening…what your mouth is doing (e.g. tooth brushing, eating, drinking etc.) and how your hand is moving, your body is moving…;
- At the same time notice any sensations in your mind and body that perhaps you don’t notice when things are moving much faster.
Guidance:
At a slower speed you will likely feel quite relaxed, but at a very slow speed you may notice something you did not expect…you may notice that whatever is happening occurs a split second before your brain “thinks” of it. For now I’ll leave it at that. If this does occur for you and you are interested in learning more, you can research concepts like “awakening” and “non-duality”…or feel free to contact me and I’d be happy to guide you with more resources that explain how our brains and the various forms of “reality”, actually work.
Give it a try – you have nothing to lose (other than stress and some limiting beliefs;))!
